I’ve lived in Canada all my life.
The Canada I know is a comfortable and healthy place, with all the amenities and characteristics to promote a positive living experience. We have exciting urban centres, polite helpful neighbours, and amazing natural landscapes.
Which is why I gravitate to this dwelling, designed by LGA Architectural Partners, located in Toronto, Canada’s largest metropolis.

Featuring a dark geometric exterior enlivened by slats of natural woods, the horizontal rhythm of the geometry creates a sense of permanence and destination to this structure.
The property is surrounded by a variety of mid-sized loose leaf plants that sway in the wind, express a lightness which contrasts with the weight of the form.
The lightness of the landscape extends into the interior of this house.

The space plan consists of a series of zones each framed with large windows, ensuring an abundance of natural light penetrates the space.
The white and natural wood palette infuses a calm and warm environment, while creating surfaces which reflect light.
The results are airy convivial spaces.

Clean minimal forms are consistent from the fixtures to the furnishings. Right angles inhabit the openings and architectural partitions, calling to mind this modernist painting by Burgoyne Diller.
Each room creates a setting to showcase the decorative objects, while anchored by sleek black furniture.

We covet the work of LGA Architectural Partners, having featured The Garden House, this Secluded Ontario Residence, and the magical Don River House on canadianrealestatehousingandhome.ca.
