Whoever said the Great White North lacks style or flare is deeply misinformed.
To prove my point, one only needs to turn their attention to this vivacious home on Howland Road Toronto.
This house, designed by LGA Architectural Partners, has everything that an interesting residence should have.

The style, creativity, and individuality in the space can all be summed up in one word: Cool.
Cool is about a lifestyle, a natural and effortless personal expression.
This elusive title is difficult to epitomize into a formula.
Laced into the carefree net of red cables, from where raw light bulbs suspends from the angular ceiling, and pulsing on the smooth white surfaces that create the ambiance for the space, cool is everywhere in this home.

The predominant white in the space creates a simple and refreshing backdrop for the electrifying pops of red and oranges.
Many of the white surfaces are broken up into large rectilinear panels adding visual interest to that which is often forgotten.

The minimal furniture atop the warm wood floors are akin to graceful skeletal forms.
Lacking in upholstery or superfluous materials, the furnishings are simple, functional, and tasteful drawing parallels with Scandinavian design.
A Finnish Marimekko panel, baring a forest green and black version of the iconic poppy emblem, decorate the breakfast area of the kitchen.

After a lovely tour of this house, designed by LGA Architects, it becomes apparent that style and originality is still alive and well in Canada.
