I recently stumbled across a North Toronto home and immediately knew I wanted to write a story featuring this captivating property.
The challenge? Should I feature this artful masterpiece under the Architecture, Landscape or Interior Design Sections?
Because this residence is the perfect representation of how well all three disciplines can elevate each other.

The dwelling, designed by Belzberg Architects Group in collaboration with interior designer Meg Joannides of MLK Studio, is the recipient of the 2013 Ontario Association of Architects Design Excellence Award.
The architecture and interior are harmonious, creating a visually arresting residence for an expanding international family.
Located in the Greater Toronto Area, the home successfully transports the residents from their city surroundings into their own private oasis, while balancing urban sophistication with nature.

The interior of the space incorporates both the clean lines of contemporary design (the focal fireplace in the double-storey living room, for example) and more organic features such as the natural wood staircase to the upper levels.

While the 10,000 square foot project could easily feel overwhelming, the seamless connection between rooms and the thoughtful transparent use of materials creates a sense of fluidity which elevates the sense of flow.

I can’t showcase this stylish abode without mentioning the landscape design.
The pool is surrounded by a patio and lawn carefully planned for maximum use.
Both private and public areas provide a relaxing retreat from the bustle of everyday life.
Check out the dreamy side patio with outdoor fireplace.

In my eyes, this is the ideal marriage of all housing disciplines. Well done!
