A cozy design studio deep in the heart of Toronto houses unique design duo Jason and Lars Dressler.
Taking the name Brothers Dressler, they create unique bespoke furniture and lighting fixtures that add character to any space they inhabit.

The wide plethora of natural resources – especially wood – has always been a unique asset of Canadian culture and its economy. In fact, forestry is one of Canada’s larger industries, accounting for almost 2% of Canada’s Gross Domestic Product.
Wood tells the stories of Canadian landscape, history, economy and building methods.
With the majority of small scale buildings built with wood frame construction, there is no shortage of availability for reclaimed wood, with trees unique to Canada found in almost every province and territory, including Yellow Birch in Newfoundland and Quebec to Tamarack in the Yukon and Northwest Territories.
The Brothers Dressler makes the most of these materials.

Pieces by Brothers Dressler aim to showcase the raw natural characters of our prized resource while respecting the cultural significance of wood in Canada. Utilizing reclaimed and naturally harvested woods from all around Canada not only helps to reduce waste, but infuses a warmth and complexity to the texture of Brothers Dressler’s products. Never sacrificing beauty, craftsmanship and technique in search for a sustainable solution, the pieces they create are timeless and made to be passed on for generations. While beautiful furniture created with reclaim wood has experienced popularity over the past few years, Brothers Dressler’s philosophy of waste reduction, beauty and environmental preservation extends beyond material choice and is carried through to their design process and construction. Their pieces are beautifully finished with natural stains, hemp oil finishes, water- based lacquers or locally made beeswax. These natural products have little to no VOCs making them healthier for you and the environment. Their pieces are created so they can be disassembled, and flat packed. Brothers Dressler provides a design solution that bares in mind convenience, and beauty, so users don’t have to sacrifice either in search for environmentally friendly furniture.

These beautiful pieces are often made with what we consider discarded material.
Their re-use challenges our perspective on what we consider waste and that which we treasure and preserve. How brilliant is that?
