What can I say about today’s featured home Viena?
For starters, offered for sale at $2,888,888, it’s one of the most stunning properties that I’ve ever written about!
It’s also designed by the award-winning custom home builders, Vicky’s Homes and was the winner of the 2019 Best Single Family over $1.5 million by the Canadian Home Builder’s Association – Edmonton Region (CHBA-ER).
Located in Cameron Heights, an up and coming neighbourhood on the west side of Edmonton, Alberta, this 6,442 square foot property has three levels, five bedrooms, seven bathrooms, an exercise pool and even a home theatre.
With the price and size of this house, there is a lot to love about this outstanding property, so let’s jump into what make this project worthy of the award it has been received.
Good design choices can make all the difference when planning the layout of a property, which is why, as an architecture student, I am impressed with the choices they made with Viena. For instance, the kitchen layout specializes in entertaining up to 36 guests! No, this is not a commercial space, just a big one for hopefully a big family, or for large groups of friends!
As well, smaller cabinets in the kitchen cleverly hide mundane everyday items such as paper towels, power outlets, and a vacuum away from prying eyes.
What is equally brilliant is how this space highlights the showstopping stovetop through an expansive U-shaped island. While the stove sits in the centre of the entire kitchen, the fan hood hidden behind the stove can be lifted when needed.
Another smart design detail is the attention to convenience, from the many bathrooms and office spaces, this house is a perfect oasis during these pandemic times that we’re going through.
Speaking of convenience, I personally appreciate the clever addition of a breakfast bar in the master bedroom which includes a faucet, fridge and outlet for an espresso machine. You can even make yourself waffles in your own bedroom using your very own waffle maker or whatever breakfast delight you could imagine, all within arms reach of your bed! Now that’s heavenly!
There’s plenty of more goodies in this house that show the attention to detail that Vicky’s Homes put into this project! If you would like to “walk through” yourself and see the spectacular details of the house as well as the wonderful basement pool and home theatre, you can view this video below or on Youtube!
With properties like Viena among their impressive portfolio, it is not surprising that Vicky’s Homes won the Builder of the Year Award in 2015, 2017, and again in 2019!
